Weight Loss Diet Comparisons

One of the key things people want to know when deciding to lose weight is what the best diet is for them as an individual. Everyone is different and we all want to find the right diet, the one that can make us slim quickly, and the weight we lost gone forever. That’s the hardest thing, making sure the weight you lose stays lost for good.

Everywhere you look there are new diets coming out, which are all different in some way or another. I think that’s very confusing for people. What diet do you choose to get your body back in shape? The huge number of overweight people has turned the weight loss industry into a massively growing market year in and year out. It seems, in this day and age, all someone needs is a trendy idea and a talent for marketing to make a lot of money from some weird or wacky new diet plan. Despite the person having not much experience in the field of weight loss.

And there is a MASSIVE amount of diets out there. We’re going take a look at only some best-known diets, because a review of all the diets currently circulating the industry would be beyond the scope of this article.

Firstly, one of the most well known diets: The Atkins Diet. Almost everyone has heard of the Atkins Diet, Even people that don’t need to lose weight. This is because of the huge amount of reports of extraordinary results, also loads of positive mail from happy customers. A huge plus with this diet is that it lets you eat high fat dairy products like butter and cheese. But the Atkins Diet has been under suspicion of making you more at risk from heart diseases. Also many people have reported suffering from diarrhoea, weakness, muscle cramps and rashes. This debate is still argued about to this day.

The second diet is the Zone Diet: Again, a very well known diet. Zone diet was made by Barry Sears and focused on eating the right combinations of food to reach the proper hormonal balance. Hormonal Balance is called the "Zone". It’s meant to take the calories and use then in the day without storing any reserves (fat). Sadly, The Zone Diet does put down some foods without having any scientific facts. Foods like whole grain and beans are not allowed. The American Heart Association says the Zone diet lacks many much needed nutrients while also encouraging high-protein foods.

Third is the Jenny Craig diet. This diet has been running since the 1980s! And is still used today. The basis of this diet is to buy Jenny Craig pre-packaged food. And the cost per week is around $100. And you have to pay for memberships costs. And fruit and vegetables are not included in any Jenny Craig food. If you can stick it out the diet is quite good. But, there are many low-calorie foods on the market that easily compare with Jenny Craig’s packages, and could save you some money too.

From the beaches of Florida we give you the South Beach diet. This diet is on the right track but has the wrong approach. That’s not to say people haven’t lost weight because they have. It’s just a very hard diet to stick to. There’s a two week start off that allows almost NO carbohydrates. Then this diet goes onto you eating whole grains and fruit and carries on as long as it takes for you to reach your desired weight. Also if you don’t like the foods you’re meant to eat as written out by the diet plan, you’re out of luck. There’s no alternative.

Here we have another well known Diet plan. Weight Watchers. This really is one of the best diet plans available. This plan is very focused on the user. If you have real drive for losing weight, everything is available for you to reach your goal. There's also a lot of support from people doing exactly the same thing as you, trying to lose weight. If you like the thought of not being alone when times can get hard then this is a great option. But be warned, there is a lot of pressure on you when you go with weight watchers which could put you off.

Fat Smash Diet
The Fat Smash Diet from Dr. Smith is not about a quick fix to lose loads of weight but focuses on a whole change of lifestyle. This prgram gained a lot of interest because of the TV program Celebrity Fit Club which gave you a look at this diet in use.

Focusing on healthy, filling foods, and lots of exercise, The diet is based on eating low calorie foods which is easy to follow. This is not one of those diets that claim to make you slim in a week, and can be follwed if you only want to lose a little weight or a lot.

This is a 4 phase plan; first three phases extending to about 8 weeks and the fourth phase being a lifetime phase. This plan lays as much stress on regular exercises as on proper diet control. This is a good diet plan that goes back to the roots of weight loss.

Dash Diet
This diet was mostly for patients with with high blood pressure. This diet is made up from consuming food that is lowsaturated fat, total fat, and cholesterol, and is rich in low-fat dairy products, fruits and vegetables. The dash diet is rich in magnesium, potassium, and calcium, as well as protein and fiber. Thuis diet uses many of the aspects found in most of the tried and tested weight loss programs out there and is backed by the NHLBI and other organisations.

Raw Food Diet
Some experts say, if your food is heated too much(over 116 deg F) enzymes that help digest and absorb the food is destroyed. Raw food diet is focused upon eating uncooked foods such as, vegetables, fruits, nuts etc. To get the most from the raw food diet you much have a minimum of 75% of the raw and living components.

Raw food is low in certain fats in comparison to the conventional diet. Raw food diet has higher fiber content and a much better sodium content. less fat which means less calories.

Raw food has many benefits. It improves digestion and improves skin appearance. It gives increased energy and it reduces risk of heart diseases, diabetes and cancer. It can lead to healthy weight loss.

Raw food diet is very healthy but is not for everyone. Raw food diet is not suitable for pregnant or nursing women or children. It is not suitable for anemic persons and persons suffering from osteoporosis. so take caution if your fall into any of the above categories.

It is also said that raw food diet may not be suitable for people in colder climates

This is just a few of the well known diets available, there are many more then written about here. If you’re thinking about starting a diet plan, first do some research and see of its right for you. From the people praising and those trying to prove the diet wrong you can probably get the truth yourself. Always listen to what doctors are saying because they will have your best interests at heart.
